So I'll just give a recap how how it went down on the 26th all right?? So we had a district meeting up in Luleå and the ZLs were up there on splits and so they also attended. I didn't like tell anyone that it was my birthday and I think somehow Sahlin found out because I walked into the little conference room and everyone is kinda awkwardly looking around and then Sahlin (and everyone else) start singing the Swedish birthday sound and I'm chillin there smilin and laughin cause like no one ever knows what to do when people are singing happy birthday to them right?? Hahaha After district meeting we went to get pizza and I had a reindeer pizza!! Yes Kate, Ellie and Claire I ate Rudolph!! It was so good! And then the ZLs had bought a Swedish cake and we ate it while Sahlin told us a story in Swedish (He is from Göteborg). Anyway it was awesome and Ashley Faldmo is sooo right when she says the best part is seeing all your mish buddies trying to make it special! #mint
So, in honor of it being my birthday this week, I'd like to "confess" a few things I did when I was like 9 that I told myself I'd tell Jodi when I was older. So here we go ;)
1. In sixth grade we were suppose to have a this judge come to our band class and rate us as we played a solo for him. I had practiced about negative 4 hours and did not want to go!! So the morning of the thing, as Jodi came in to wake me up, I (totally faking it) coughed and was like "I don't feel so good" and Jodi was like "Well you can stay in bed all day or go to school" so I was like "Ok.. *fake cough *fake cough" Then mom called Mrs. Dailey and she told her I was sick. Mrs. Dailey then informed her of the band thing that day. Jodi then comes back up to my room and asked me if I knew it was today and I was like "It was today??" (a total lie..) Hahahahha and no I did not "feel well enough" to make it to school by 11:45 so I could play #oops
2. Sooo most of my time at Alex Fernando's as a middle school superstar was spent playing video games like NCAA football, Halo, and Ace Pilot fighters (or something like that) and eating all the fabulous cookies that Kelli made. I am pretty sure my mom figured that one out by now but idk hahaha
3. So a few years ago "a mysterious hole in the wall" appeared next to Elizabeth's room... yeah that was me.... you probs figured that one out too.... That one was for dad haha!!!
Hopefully I think of some more good ones for when I turn 20 ;) #hoodratkids
Well last week we thought that possibly spring was coming buuuuut nope.... winter is back... I'm crying... Like I love winter and all but it is time to move on!!
I think i have walked more this week then my entire mission. It takes about 1 hour 15 minutes to walk from one corner of town to the other and now it is too icy to bike. I think we walk the whole town at least once everyday.. at least... haha but it is good because then we have the opportunity to talk to a lot of people and lose weight, at the same time! woot!
We had some good things happen this week. We had a lesson with one of our Investigators, Agnetha, we actually invited her to be baptized but she thought the date was too soon and just kinda didn't really say yes or no. We have a lesson again this week and I am hoping to set something up with her! She is super great and wants to help her kids be raised in a good home where they love each other!!
On Friday I had the opportunity to give a blessing to a member here. He has had a hard life and just needs some more strength to keep going. I was quite worried that I would not be able to provide the comfort and words he needed but I felt inspired during the experience and he was very appreciative. The whole day I was worrying that he was feeling okay.
I just kept worrying about it and throughout the day. Later, Elder Treat, Elder Peterson, and President Beckstrand all called me for different reason and I felt it was a blessing for me because I just needed to hear from them. The Lord knows what we need and always looks out for us!!
So I also finished the Book of Mormon for the first time in Swedish this week! I would highly recommend it to all you readers out there ;) It is super good ;)
So Skellefteå, to be honest, is a very hard area. I love the members and all but the long days, lack of sun and finding work just wears you out. During district meeting I found a "poetic" chapter heading. it comes from the 31st chapter of Alma:
The Missionaries are filled with The Holy Spirit-- Their afflictions are swallowed up in the joy of Christ.
You never know when The Lord is going to ask you to do something hard but if we live worthy to have the companion of the spirit, all things are possible. My father is a fantastic example of this. He does everything the Lord asks him and he is so in tune with the spirit all the time. I am grateful for his example and his love he shows everyone, especially his family.
Thanks again for all the birthday wishes!!! Y'all the best!! (better Chad Jensen?;) )
Ha det så bra kompisar!!!
Mvh
