So I know I have not written forever so I got a lot of details for y'all (good morning Chad Jensen)
Sooo we'll start two weeks back..
I got to Stockholm last Monday at around 13.30 where I met the welcoming arms of my two new companions Elder Archibald and Sahlin.
For all you avid followers back in the US of A you might remember Elder Archibald from Gubbängen. Yes, we are doin round 2 together here in Täby!!! I think I am a little more excited about that then him ;) hahaha
So Yes Archi as you know is from Idaho #spudtime and loves good ol' Americano Football #comoestas. He has that football coach attitude but doesn't take himself too seriously. We were best friends in the premortal life, I am sure of it! hahaha
And Then We have the Swede, Elder Sahlin. He is straight up the best missionary to be in Sweden since... well forever.... He hails from the city of Göteborg (Gothenberg) and fun fact, I actually saw his wonderful mother my only day in Utby!! (his ward and Utby share a building in Göteborg). Elder Sahlin is 23 and goes home at the end of this transfer (Jan 21).
He will be incredibly missed but lucky for us, he is still in the mission! Du kan inte försvinna här ifrån Äldste Sahlin!
Now it is time for the FuN fAct segment of our weekly report!!
A few months ago, Elder Sahlin was companions with Elder Rasmussen and Noso at the same time #tripanprobs. Elder Noso trained elder Archibald and Elder Rasmussen trained me! Sooo Elder Sahlin has been companions with the fathers and the sons of our mission generations!!
Since I have been in Täby we have spent a total (and this is not an exaggeration) of 15+ hours in our car.... #grabadrinkandletsroadtrip
Last week was Zone conference Week So this was our scedule:
Tuesday: Zone Conference in Gubbängen for the Stockholm and Norrland zones
Wednesday: Zone Conference in Västerhaninge for the Stockholm South and Södertälje zones and then we drove 5+ hours to Göteborg
Thursday: Splits with Utby
Friday: Zone Conference for Göteborg and Malmö zones and then 5+ hour drive back to Stockholm...
Wow!!... Crazy life!
This week has been a lot more normal. We have been spending a good amount of time pro... wait.... This week was Christmas!!! Shoot!
So on Christmas eve we went over to the Emmanulsson's and had a very traditional Swedish Christmas. We ate things like eel, raw salmon, fishy potatoes, spicy mustard, herring (many different flavors and scents of course... like duh.) and stuff like that. Then we did things like played classy games like Wall street, watched Donald Duck, and sang songs. It was awesome!!
Then on Christmas day we had a very typical American Christmas. We were with President and Sister Beckstrand. We ate things like bacon, ham, eggs, waffles, french toast, turkey, cheesy potatoes, turkey, rolls, and ranch dressing. We did things like scream at each other while playing apples to apples, ripped open Christmas presents, played soccer in the house, and ate all the candy in sight.
See the difference between here and home? High society
The best part of the week was of course talking to the fam!! I love them all so much and are grateful for what they have done for me. I can't believe that the next skype call will be my last!! TIME FLIES ELDER ONIKI AND MOOS AND ALL.
I don't understand why I have been so blessed on my mission. I have had awesome companions and awesome areas and allt är bara fett schysst. jätte ned. jätte sjuk.
I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and can remember the real reason of Christmas. When I was younger, My mom would always tell me "my favorite part of Christmas is getting to spend time with my kids :):):) hehehe" and I would be like"...... that's stupid.... where is Keime?..." But now I see the bigger picture. Christmas is such a good time to gather as families and I feel so much joy and happiness with them. It is like a little taste of the eternities :) I lööv you guys!
Have a good week! Gott Nytt År!!! (if you want help with that pronunciation, ask Jodi, she is the Swedish master)
kram kram
