So this week was not as full of events as the previous weeks have been but I'll see what I can put together haha.
So we have been saving water bottles to use for Kubb sets and I think we have over 50 water bottles in my closet now haha that was kinda random but whatever. We have also decided that every Tuesday night (P-Day eve) one room will host a sleepover! So last night Elder Morrell and Dewitt had us over at the 321 for the evening haha.
Oh and we have gotten to that point where we have no entertainment so we write poems. Elder Porter (Danish) is sooo funny with his poems . Elder Treat and I always write a poem in response! I'll try to get a copy of them and send them!
anywayyy
Last week when we went to the temple, Treat, myself and some Dutch elders did some sealings. It was a great experience and I think we are going to do it again today. One of the names of a boy that I stood in the place of was Oscar Edmond Anderson. He was from around the Malmö area in Sweden. I wonder if it was somehow a distant relative from Grandma Hemmingsen. That would be kinda awesome if he is.
Äldste Treat also told me that his mom said that Elder Bednar is coming to Sweden the first week that we get there! I have heard the same thing from lots of other elders in my zone so I think it is true!
So every week, all the missionaries must prepare a 5 minute talk on an assigned topic and then in Sacrament meeting, 2-3 people get called up to speak. This week's topic was faith and I had this KILLER talk prepared and I had four different people tell me they thought I was going to talk... and I didn't... I was kinda disappointed. Feels weird to think that I was disappointed to not speak in church right? haha Well anyway I was studying about how we can get investigators to have more faith and I came upon Helaman 15
uhh hmm *clears throat*
7 And behold, ye do know of yourselves, for ye have witnessed it, that as many of them as are brought to the knowledge of the truth, and to know of the wicked and abominable traditions of their fathers, and are led to believe the holy scriptures, yea, the prophecies of the holy prophets, which are written, which leadeth them
to faith on the Lord, and unto repentance, which faith and repentance bringeth a change of heart unto them--
8 Therefore, as many as have come to this, ye know of yourselves are firm and steadfast in the faith, and in the thing wherewith they have been made free.
The way you can teach an investigator faith is by the same way that you learned it. I like how it says "And you know of yourselves, for ye have witnessed it." As a missionary you have to have a lot of faith that the Lord will provide away. I have witnessed myself gain so much faith even in these last 4 weeks. I love also how it says that this faith brings a change of heart. Everyone accepted the gospel before they came to earth so way deep deep down in everyone is the desire to know of their good. This means that there is so such thing as a unteachable investigator, even in Sweden!
I love you all and hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for all your support and I'll see you in 23 months! Love ya!
