So here are a few funny things that happened this week. On Wednesday, when the new elders came, Treat, Peterson and I, thought it would be funny to mess with the greenies hehehe ;) So we flipped or tags around on our shirts and it looked like our name tags had not been engraved yet hahahaha. Then we would walk up to a group of newbies and ask them where they got their names engraved on their tags! Gosh we are too funny! We had this one elder going for 10 minutes and he tried to help us get to the information desk (because we "didn't" know where that was either) and then we just left him to be confused for all of his life hahaha.
Also on Monday, I was shaving, and then I heard "GET HEMMINGSEN!" and 10 Danish elders came flying into the bathroom with squirt guns and completely soaked me....... ok... So then I decided to retaliate hahaha. I went back to my room where Treat for some reason had some silly string; then I kicked open my door and OWNED those Danes with my silly string!
So I won that war :)
We also had some interesting events this week. Bouton got transfered to be with Van Alfen because we had two trios in our group. He still is Treat and my companion, he just teaches with Van Alfen. Another thing, Peterson and Bradley got bedbugs in their room so they had to move in with us.... we have five sweaty/smell/messy/dirty/poopy men in our room... ew. It smells like a public restroom... but it is allll good!
I have also kind of noticed a small little miracle in my life. One thing I was worried about was not having a good bed in the MTC and my back killing me. At home, almost every morning, my back would hurt. Not one night these whole three weeks have I woke up with back pain. Either it is a blessing in my life, or my bed was just that bad at home haha.
Now for more information on the work. This week I finished the Book of Mormon after reading it for 3.5 months. S/O to Elizabeth Hemmingsen for giving me the challenge and I got the most out of the Book of Mormon then I ever have when I read it this time. One thing that I read during my studies was Alma 31:5 which says--
And now, as the preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just—yea, it had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else, which had happened unto them—therefore Alma thought it was expedient that they should try the virtue of the word of God.
The Book of Mormon is the most powerful tool that we have as missionaries. As we show our investigators the importance of this book, they can learn to know these things are true. The importance of having the Spirit in teaching is the most import thing we can bring to the table. We watched a new Mormon message about a guy who came to know God through the Spirit he felt when he prayed. I recommend all of you watch it.
I love you all!! Have a nice week! Write me as much as you want! I looooove it!
Shout out to the Onikis for the package of jerky/candy/heartfelt notes! Thank you!!!
