This whole transfer I have been bugging Kiikko that he is going to be training somewhere right?? So like it is Tuesday morning and we are about to have a closing prayer to our comp study and all of a sudden the phone rings ok??? Kiikko says "It's Pres?!" and I am like "You're getting your training call!!" And then President Beckstrand kinda holds a little small talk and then says "Well this call is actually specifically for Elder Hemmingsen, Elder Hemmingsen, you probably have heard of the up coming transfers right?" ok. " Well there are two new elders coming in from the MTC and I need you to train one of them, can you do that for me?"
I literately had no idea what to say so I was like "uhhhh, ya, I am super excited..." hahaha
So yeah dudes, I will be flying down into Stockholm on Tuesday to get new comp. I have had stomach pains. I guess a little nervous. Then after I get my lil' guy, I'll hope on to a train and head off to my area in Eskilstuna! This is area number four for me and I'll be training just how I was trained.. doubling in.. awesome... But I am so excited and also so nervous!!
Well this week was good. Kiikko and I have been saying goodbye to some people and it has been hard for me to do so. I have learned so much here and feel like I was almost cheated a little because I have been here for just 3 months... But I am excited for what the future holds!
I also had the zone leaders here last week here in Skellefteå and Elder Krebs and I did some work together again, he is a stud!
But the highlight of my week was definitely talking to my family! They look so old!! But not Jeff and Jodi, they are still super young ;) especially Jodi ;)
It was so good to see their little faces and hear their voices. I told them some stories from Malmö that I have not shared before like a lady getting shot, a drive-by gang shooting and a terrorist attack in Copenhagen when I was there.... I love Malmö...
Well guys I don't really have a lot to say and I have a lot of scrambledness going on in my mind right now. I hope all is well and that you had a fantastic mothers day just like me. Remember to give your mom a hug every day because she should be your best friend.
This week I have been studying a lot about the beginning of Alma and Amuleks' ministry in chapters 7-13 of the Book of Alma. Amulek you could say was a very recent convert and Alma had to train him to be a very good missionary in this ever so wicked city. They fasted and prayed much together that the hearts of the people would be softened. Alma also allowed Amulek to learn for himself how to teach. Those two together were very successful missionaries. Success is measured by the ability to feel the spirit testifying that your words are true.
2 Nephi 33:1
"For when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the hearts of the children of men." (emphasis added)
The message we offer is only unto the hearts of the people and it is their choice if they bring it into their hearts. That is our job, to have the Holy Ghost with us.
I love you all and have a fantastic week!!
I would also just like to leave a special note for my Mother Jodi Pagie. She is the best mom to walk this planet. I bet her and Christ's mother Mary exchanged parenting tips in the pre-mortal life. I love my mom so much and miss our little lunch dates we use to have almost everyday my senior year. Mom you're the best!!!!
Oh and S/O to Riley Unsicker who is the happiest groom ever!! Go get 'em tiger!!
The son of a stellar mom,
