This week we also received our flight plans to Sweden! We have to be at the travel office at 4:35 in the morning... I might breakdown and cry... But we get to leave so it's ok hahaha. Anyway we fly from Salt Lake to Minneapolis then to Amsterdam and then finally to Stockholm. I think we travel for a total of 26 hours but it will really be 34 because of jet lag.... I might cry again... But it's ok because I'll be going to Sweden.
There is something about the Swedish language that drives me crazy... the word well doesn't exist! Värför!?! Whenever I ask how someone is doing they say "good" instead of well and I cry a little inside... I have had lots of crying in this email... haha. Anyway it's not the end of the world but it is a pet peeve haha.
Yesterday the TRC blessed us with a pleasant surprise. Our whole district has been selected to demonstrate how to begin teaching to the new missionaries that arrive today. Awesome. It's P-day, but whatever I guess. ( Treat, Bouton, and I can sacrifice a few hours for these greenies ;)
I can totally tell what Elizabeth means about freshman, sophs, Jr, and Sr in the MTC; I'm finally a senior!! ....again.
Another thing that we have decided is that a mission is a tithe on your life up to this point. Once I get home (LOL I have been out for a month and a week) I will have spent 10% of my life in Sweden as a missionary! Anyway, just a thought.
So this week I have been doing some studying in Mosiah and 2nd Nephi.
19 For behold, are we not all beggars? Do we not all depend upon the same Being, even God, for all the substance which we have, for both food and raiment, and for gold, and for silver, and for all the riches which we have of every kind?
20 And behold, even at this time, ye have been calling on his name, and begging for a remission of your sins. And has he suffered that ye have begged in vain? Nay; he has poured out hisSpirit upon you, and has caused that your hearts should be filled with joy, and has caused that your mouths should be stopped that ye could not find utterance, so exceedingly great was your joy.
I just Love the perspective that this gives us. Are we not all beggars? There is nothing in our life that we cannot be grateful for. God has blessed us with so much and the least we can do is just be grateful.
We also were taught how to teach someone who already has faith in Christ and is a strong member of a different faith. I really like a talk I heard once about a man who said that his testimony in Christ began in the Baptist Church. God has so much to offer for us even if we feel that we are doing all right. It shouldn't have to take a huge trial for someone to realize there is a God.
27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
28 And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit;
There are tons of great people out there and they are on the right path but they just don't know how much more happy they can be with Christ in their lives!
I love you all and I hope to hear from you soon! Next P-Day I'll be in SWEDEN!!! See ya soon!
