We started off this week by taking a plane up to Umeå for a Specialized Zone Training! The training is on getting back to the basics of teaching and planning. President Beckstrand used Vince Lombardi and how he taught his professional football players "This is a football". Y'all remember when coach did that?? Elder Bradshaw and I then take it to planning and how to be effective in our planning so that we can use our time wisely. It is a very instructional training but it is practical and good!
Anyway :)
Then we went on splits with the Zone Leaders there in Umeå. I was with the ever so talented Elder Bailey! We spent most of the day finding. Elder Bailey is super bold and loving and I was so impressed with how much he has grown. You done raised a good son Shelley and Bill!! hahah ;)
We had to drive one of the old mission cars home from Umeå which is about an 7.5 hour drive. But Norrland is soooo beautiful during this time of the year! So yeah we drove the car from Umeå to Stockholm. We got home late Thursday night.
Then Friday morning we woke up and went to the YSA center in Stockholm to have the SZT for the Stockholm missionaries. We had a few technical difficulties at the Stockholm SZT but it all worked out in the end. First thing was the projector kept on glitching out and we ended having to switch to a mobile projector that we had brought with us. Then when Elder Bradshaw and I started training we decided to skip over the PowerPoint because of all the problems we were having. To make matters ever worse, as we were about to close the meeting, the chorister was walking up to the front to lead the music and she stepped awkwardly and blew her knee out and went to the hospital... Yeah we decided to never use the YSA center for trainings again...
Saturday we had a ward activity and played some soccer! Super fun, I got crushed but it's alright. I need to work on not being prideful anyway.. Yeah and then we had a lesson with a new investigator. He has a catholic background seems to be rather interested! He brought his wife to the lesson too and she seemed more positive than him. We'll see what happens!
Oh and of course Sunday was the best :) We had Stake conference here and that was awesome. I have been in the Stockholm stake since August of last year so I feel like I am apart of this stake. President Johnson of the Seventy gave a great talk about not letting our spiriutal light gradually dim. It was a good meeting.
Then I had the opportunity to speak with my beautiful little family. They all seem so happy and good. I can't believe that the next time I see them will be in person. Boy does time fly. I feel like I have just begun to understand what it means to be a missionary. It is weird to think I'll be home in two months.
I love you all! I hope that you have a good week!! Everyone you sees Jodi Paige Webb Hemmingsen needs to give her a hug for me because I couldn't on mothers day!!
