This week was sooo busy. We got two and a half new investigators haha I'll explain later. It also rained so so so much this week which means that winter is comin' to Sverige. I am happy that I'll be in Malmö for winter because this should be the "warmest" place to have winter in Sweden but with my luck, it'll snow 124 meters...
Had some really really really cool things happen this week. On Onsdag (wednesday) I was saying my morning prays and prayed that we might be able to find someone to teach that day. As I stood up after praying, my phone went off. I had received a text from the office äldster saying that we had received a self referral from Falsterbo! Boom. prayer answered... but wait.. there is more. So we obviously went to Falsterbo (1 hour bus ride) to contact the referral. We got there and the dude wasn't home... being all disappointed, we decided to knock some doors... After 25 minutes, no one would talk to us (vad som är nytt?(what's new?)). So Ras asked me if I thought we should keep trying or just go on with our day... Even though knocking stinks, we both knew what the right answer was. The very next door we knocked, we met Tina. Tina is from Turkey and has two kids. She wants to raise her family in a christian home but does not know which church to join. She also thinks that the bible is too complicated for children and wishes there was another book to help her. At this point, I am like.... "uhhhh yeah, umm like yeah, here's a page err i mean book... book Mormon... Book of Mormon?.... Church is cool....." hahaha no I am kidding, we had a great lesson about the restoration and introduced the Book of Mormon to her. But the annoying thing was, is that she doesn't have a Swedish phone number but told us to come back in a month because she would be in Turkey until November..... So that is our "half" investigator
We also were swinging by a member this week and met her husband, Diego who is not a member. He has been taught many times but it has never worked out. He speaks Spanish, so Ras (being fluent in English, Spanish, and Swedish; I can barely speak English) thought it would be good to teach him in Spanish. When we got to their house, they had a daughter who was sick and Nancy (the member) asked us to give her a blessing. After the blessing and lesson, Ras asked Diego if he would be interested in learning about the priesthood. To our amazement, he said yes. We also invited him to church and he came!! At church, Nancy said that she has never seen her husband more helpful and happy then he has been this week. We taught him after church (in Spanish, i was lost) but I could feel the spirit SO strong. Ras later told me that he had invited Diego to be baptized the first week of Nov. and Diego said he would pray about it! We screamed like little girls!
We also contacted a referral from a member of a lady who lives right next to us and she said that she is willing to hear the lessons but she also said it will take her a long time to make any decisions. But hey, it is a start!
Okay so we also had splits again this week and I went back to Lund. Lund is soooo beautiful! There is a university there and I might have to do some studying abroad in 2016 :)
funny story- So I am sitting on the bus this week and some 13 year-old girl with her fancy iPhone takes a picture of me and puts it on her snapchat story.... idk why but yeah... sup.
finally had some weird food this week! Ras and I bought some chicken hearts (just for giggles) and they were actually super good! When I was in Lund we ate at a African ladies house and we had boiled chicken, unions and manna. yeah like manna from the bible. It was good! and she also had us eat it like we were natives which means no forks or spoons.. but yeahhhh
I love you all!! Sorry for the long letter! Thanks for all the prayers and things. I hope all is good in Siouxland and the rest of 'merica. I'll see you all soon!! Love you!
