Boy am I tired all the time... We ride the bus and walk everywhere but it's good. We have bikes but don't use them much because they are kinda a burden but yeah.
So yeah this week has been really busy! We talk to seriously everyone that we pass on the street. So it takes like 45 extra minutes to get anywhere. But if you don't contact, you donät teach so it's worth it. We had like 20ish lessons this week but only have like 2 maybe 3 people progressing. But blessings come with obedience!
So some possitive people we did meet this week are Su and Edu. Su is from Korea and we met him just by our apartment. It was like 8:54 p.m. and we were ready to go home but we decided to contact this last person. We have had three lessons with him this week and he is progressing very well! I don't know what will happen with him because he works a lot so he can't go to church but we fasted for him on Saturday. Edu is from Nigra and we met him near the library. He is a great guy and has lots of deep questions about life. We have had only one lesson with him but we are planning to meet again on Tuesday. We'll see what happens!
Oh so now I have talk about Friday... ew..
So we missed our bus to go to Limhamn and decided to knock doors by our apartmentish area. We only had like 45 minutes until we needed to go home so we just picked a street and went for it. Not yet had I discovered mean Swedes, but then I knocked this street hahaha.
House 1. It was wrapped in like some plastic stuff and you couldn't get to the door.
House 2. We knocked and heard someone come up to the door, stand there, flicker the lights, and then leave... ok?
House 3. We knocked and then we see this old lady look through the window. We smiled and waved but all she did was frown, knock on her window back at us and say "Vad vill ni! gå ut" (translation- what do you want! go away!)
House 4. Knock, Old man pokes his head out window and says "nej nej nej nej" and then leaves us on his porch.... uhh
House 5. Ok this one is the best. Some crazy dude comes out (His eyes were like broken... one was looking at my feet and the other was looking at my hair) and starts swearing at us in English and then makes a very interesting comment about religion that I will not be sharing.... hahaha yeah.
House 6. I am terrified by this point. We are walking up the side walk and set off some sort off alarm but knocked the door anyway haha annnd they were not home.
House 7. Some lady said come back later! Finally something positive haha
House 8. Man answers the door I introduce myself and try to shake his hand but he doesn't skake it and says "nej tack" and shuts the door...
So yeah that was a blast... but we met Su that night so it was all good in the end!
Ok now for the best part of the email
*clears throat*
Funny stuff!!
So the only only food that you can buy in bulk here is cheese. We have a 7lbs brick of gouda in the fridge right now... it is delicious.
Also Kate I lied last week. Rasmussen knows the Clarks. He played basketball with Christian.
Ok so I have had some Jodi and Jeff moments this week.
Jeff Moments-
The Good- One thing that my dad loves to do is be alone and think about stuff. Now that I am required to be with someone all the time, I desire to be alone more because I can't.. haha anyway I love having personal study in the morning where I can sit, read, and get lost in the knowledge of God.
The Bad- All I ever want in the middle of the day is a 12 minute nap! but I can't :(
The ugly- So two nights ago we discovered a spider the size of Claire. Rasmussen was to scared to kill it so he had me. I have never been so terrified in my life... I have never been scared of spiders until now! But I tried to kill it but it ran away and now there is a Claire-sized spider living above our stove... I'm crying.
Jodi moments-
The Good- today is p-day and we spent lots of time cleaning. I seriously scrubbed every inch of that place. I was the best! I was kinda sad when I was done because I was enjoying myself so much :( oh well I'll do it next week.
The Bad- Whenever I get nervous, I talk 10000 mph... I know that Jodi does that whenever she goes to dinner with someone new and I do it sometimes when I contact people and they look at me like I am stupid... haha
The Ugly- So Rasmussen was helping me prepare a contact to use and when I was ready I picked the person I was going to use it on and stared at them for like five minutes until they walked pass me. Ras said that I was just smiling the whole time and that the guy was crepped out... haha I felt like Elder Calhoun from the bet two years! It felt like something that Jodi would do ;)
Weird stuff in Sweden
1. Phone numbers. They have 3 types of phone numbers and they look like this-
073 23 67 51
79 75 56 678
47 28 68 68 30 96
like why?
2. Everyone has a dog and they all take them for rides on the bus... haha
3. everyone is very quiet. Like the busses are all silent
Oh and message of the week! Alma 26 is the definition of Sweden and missionary work. Read it. It talks about how missions are not meant to be easy and that people will reject you and mock you. But if you work your hardest, when it is over, you can look back and be proud of all the things you have done and all the lives you have changed. The journey is worth it. Whoever has the ability to serve needs to. The Lord needs missionaries and the people in our missions need us. It is all worth it. Two years is not a long time really. Right now, yeah I feel like I will never be home, I will probably die here! But the work we are doing is worth it. Keep it up ladies and gents!
Well anyway! Hope y'all are happy back in the states! Sometimes I wish I had a english mission call because then I could talk with more confidence haha. But it'll come. I love Swedish and it is a pretty language in my eyes. I try my best to use it as much as I can and that is the best way to learn. I love you all and hope to hear from you soon! See ya soon!
