This week has been rather eventful actually. Lots of ups and downs. Details to follow
The first up
So we had a first lesson with a new investigator named Satar and he brought his buddy Sfeon to the lesson too. They speak Swedish (kinda) but their first language is Arabic or Persian or Kurdish.. I can't remember.
The first down
So the story behind my subject of this letter comes from an experience on splits this week. I was once again in the lovely city of Lund. Those poor elder's have like next to nothing to work with so we spent the whole day contacting and tracting... We were suppose to have a member dinner that night which was something to look forward too, but then we knocked on the bros door and he answers it without his pants on and it is totally obvious that he has been sleeping the whole day.. He still lets us in and we chat for awhile (he still has no pants on) and then he is like "Vill ni ha maten?" (Do you want food?) and he goes and gets us some TV dinners.. annnd I burnt my tongue on the half naked mans TV dinner...
The second up
So I have been feeling a little worried for our boys Su and Sammy so Aldste Brinkworth and I decided to fast on Sunday. Well Brinkworth forgot about it in the morning (it's chill) but I didn't know that,.. anyway, so we get to church and I am sitting at the sacrament table because they asked me to bless it. I am looking in the back of the chapel and who do I see come in?? Diego! Come to find out, he had talked with the Stake President and he asked him if he could get baptized! We also had another investigator randomly show up to church and quite a few less-actives! Fasting with a purpose really does work miracles!
The second down
So I was a little down (not much just a little ;) ) one night as I was sitting at my desk just before I went to sleep. I was kinda "murmuring" to myself because we had had three lessons get cancelled that day.. I noticed that my scriptures were on the desk and there was one verse that was marked on the page. 1 Nephi 2:12
12 And thus Laman and Lemuel, being the eldest, did murmur against their father. And they did murmur because they knew not the dealings of that God who had created them.
Why do I have need to murmur? I know the dealings of our Creator, I should be rejoicing! I slept rather well that night ;)
Just a story for the ages
So this week in church was ward conference and as I was walking to sit down from blessing the sacrament, I heard over the pulpit:
"Vi ska ha tre vittnesbörd nu från några av vår församling medlemmar. Ett från blah blah, en andra från blah blah, och de sista från Äldste Hemmingsen."
(we will now have three testimonies from some of our ward members. One from blah blah, another from blah blah and the last from Elder Hemmingsen #touchdown..)
haha I was actually very grateful for that opportunity to do that, this ward is like home now and I know and love everyone. (and they love me ;) )
Well the interesting part of the story is what happened just before I bore my testimony. So I was sitting next to my best bud Jeffrey (he is three) and he wanted to wear both my name tags. So I was like "yeah sure" and then I'll just snag one off of him before I go up there rigth? wrong.. Jeff started crying because Uncle Bill took his toy cars, so his mom had to take him into the foyer. I was unable to get my tags back before... I didn't have any "Äldste Hemmingsen" tags but I remembered that I had put my "Hermana Hemmingsen" name tag on my scriptures(Elizabeth is saving my life even when she is 5,000 miles away #dabomb), so I slipped that onto my suitcoat and bore my testimony to 130 Swedes while wearing a Hermana Hemmingsen name tag! hahaha #classic
