So this week brought some new changes here in Täby. Our good friend and komrat Äldste Sahlin took the journey to Göteborg! He will definitely be missed and I have absolutely loved being his companion. Thanks for all that you have done man! #superdown #givemesomeknuckles
So on Tuesday we had the new missionaries arrive. This transfer there was only 1 new missionary. She is from Australia so I pulled the classic "Good 'ay Mate! How 'bout we but anothe' shrimp on the barbee!!" Hahahha ;)
On Wednesday we gave some training to the new missionary and then sent off her and her trainer to Jönköping! That night we had the opportunity to watch a missionary fireside that was broadcasted by the Missionary Executive Council from the church! (I actually have no idea what that means but it sounds super snazzy!) The training they gave was entitled "Teach Repentance and Baptize Converts". It was way cool and I liked how they did it. They had a few parts with a missionary panel and then Elder Bednar or someone else important would do an interactive training with them. It is a fantastic training and I learned a lot.
Wednesday we had a little hejdå party for Elder Sahlin and Sister Allred. We went to TGI Fridays and we were all wearing suits because we went to the Temple (which was awesome) and Sister Beckstrand ordered us all hot wings as an appetizer. Sooooo I ate my hot wings in a suit.
Sister Allred is entered the MTC the same time that I did so it was werid to see her complete her mission. She was a fantastic missionary and I know you'll do great things in your life Sister Allred!!!! You are the best!!!! #S/O
We have been spending a ton of time planning for different trainings that we will be having in the near future. We are having MLC tomorrow and our focus is going to come from what we learned from the fireside. We have planned for most of it to be discussion with the leaders because we want their feedback of what they think the mission needs. It will be good!
Like other than that, our week was kinda basic! We are going to Umeå (way up north) this week to see a zone training and then do some splits!
Oh yeah today on P-day I spent like 2.5 hours cutting missionaries hair. I bet you never thought I would do that ;) hahaha it is kinda fun! You just gotta learn not to react when you mess up hahaha
I would like to wrap up with a quick like scripture and then an invitation.
This scripture comes from Lehi's dream. In his dream he sees a tree and a straight and narrow path towards it. After much adversity on the path, he finally reaches the tree. This is what he says once he eats the fruit from the tree:
11 And it came to pass that I did go forth and partake of the fruit thereof; and I beheld that it was most sweet, above all that I ever before tasted. Yea, and I beheld that the fruit thereof was white, to exceed all the whiteness that I had ever seen.
12 And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit.
I love this because Lehi's first reaction after he takes this fruit is that he wants to share it. It is just like the gospel. I have seen how wonderfully sweet the gospel is and now I want to share it with others so that they can taste of the fruit as well. Not only does he share it, he shares it with his family ;)
I hope you all have a good week!! Take some time to read the talk that I have down there! It is call "Stay by the Tree". it's super good ;)
