I have had some of the best days of my mission and then also some of the hardest days of my mission this week
The best-- (I like to eat my cake first so here is the best)
So our investigator Bella is the most prepared person I have ever met in my life. listen to this fellas:
Sunday (last week)- She comes to church, says she felt super good and has had those feelings before but didn't know what it is. We teach her about the Holy Ghost and she accepts to be baptized.
Monday- She comes to family home evening at the church and has a super good time playing dumb little mormon games. Y'all know what I am talking about, stuff like 4 men on a couch and pictionary. She also randomly tells us that she use to drink but that she has grown out of that and doesn't drink anymore. She also randomly tells us that she has been living with a roommate but it "doesn't feel right" so she is moving to another apartment in the city.
Tuesday- We met her in the church and taught her the restoration. She took it super well and said it makes sense! We invite her to pray daily and try to find out if it is true but she told us that she had already began to pray daily starting on Sunday because a member bore their testimony on prayer in sacrament meeting.
Thursday- We were going to have a member dinner with her but the member cancelled so it fell through :(
Sunday- She didn't come to church!! And she didn't text us back :( (but it's still chill fellers) The member then reset the appointment and called Bella and invited her. When we met at the members, Bella felt super bad for missing church and said she just slept through her alarm! After dinner we were walking home and Bella told me she smokes.... but it is chill because she has been trying to quit and yesterday was her last cigarette!! She is so ready!!
The worst--
Now I can't even remember why this week was hard but I just remember it was hard... haha... like it rained Wednesday through Saturday and so that was annoying but like yeah...
Well this week was also Midsommar which is a big deal in the Sweden! We weren't allowed to work Friday and Saturday. The mission president gave us permission to see some of Sweden's traditions and go to some of the celebrations. I spent Friday in K-Holm going to the city's party, riding penny boards and watching the K-Holm elders eat surströming (rotten fish)! then on Saturday we hit up the outlet mall and came back to E-Tuna!!
I know I have said this before but my amazing sister invited me to read the story of Joseph and the coat of many colors in the end of Genesis, Chapter 45. It is now one of my most favorite chapters of the Bible, listen to what he says when he sees his brothers again!
1. Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.
2. And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.
3. And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.
4. And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
5. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
Think about what this man went through! He was sold by his brothers, made a servant unto the king, cast into prison for over 7 years for doing absolutely nothing and then he reunites with his brothers and he says something like that!? What an example, love that story, amen.
Dudes do the thing and have a fabtabulous week.
