Jodi moment of the week:
So I was cookin' up some 'Korv båtar' and like I get done adding the butter and then I put it away and put my food thing in the oven. So then I go to put away the milk and I see the knife I used to cut the butter in the fridge. Puzzled, I think to myself "That is odd, why is the knife in the fridge, I put it in the sink??" and then it hit me.... all the flash backs of finding flour, pepper, paper towels, Claire, car keys, and many other random things in the fridge from Jodi... I then looked in the sink and saw the butter!! Slowly, I backed up and was like "no... no... No.... NO!! I am becoming my mother!!" #hereditarygenes
A few cool things that happened this week was I met the coolest bro-dawg named Winicus and he is from... wait for it..... Brazil!! He is like 14 and has met missionaries before. He is such a stud and to top it off he told me "I like football, and not like that sissy soccer stuff but like real American Football" #touchdown Anyway he is so cool and I want him to teach me português!! #Braziliaordie
We also taught the Camacho family again and found out that one of the daughters is not a member. Carmen (the mother) was not home but we called her and she was sad to have missed us but wants to meet again. The are so funny!! All the little niños #giftoftongues, stole all my stuff and I had to go on a scavenger hunt to find it all #iwillgoiwilldo
I also went on splits to Boden this week too. It is the most northern area a missionary can serve. (It is 1,444 km from Malmö and would take me 295 hours to walk there from malmö) Äldste Elinkowski and were planning on going out to see the northern lights because they were suppose to be super bright but they weren't out!! I was so disappointed!!! It is chill because there was a solar eclipse on Thursday and we saw that #naturewalks
This week was pretty good! I feel settled in now in Skellefteå. Our days are becoming more filled with teaching and less finding work. I don't really know where are appointments are coming from, they just kinda show up! #blessed I feel a lot more confident about Skellefteå now. We had a "family phone evening" last night and Elder Sahlin (my fav Swede ever) and also one of our Zone leaders made a great comment about always just doing a little bit more. One more contact. One more house to knock. Staying out in the cold a little longer because that is always the time you see a miracle. it made me reflect on my mission and it is so true! All of my favorite investigators were all contacted when it was the least convenient, like Donald! Anyway.... it just made me think how the Lord wants us to push our selves as far as we can, and then a little more. Anyone on the mish right now (or 23 years ago this week-Jeffrey) can back me up.
I would just like to quickly acknowledge how much I appreciate the time we have to study our scriptures every morning. I have been rollin around in the Book of Mormon (like the part of the Book of Mormon called the Book of Mormon). I have just felt so bad for the things Mormon had to witness. The Lord will always provide a way for us in our trials according to our faith and I think of the huge trial that Mormon went through having to witness the destruction of his people. Also I found it interesting that Mormon was called at such a young age. Mormon 1:2
2 And about the time that Ammaron hid up the records unto the Lord, he came unto me, (I being about ten years of age, and I began to be learned somewhat after the manner of the learning of my people) and Ammaron said unto me: I perceive that thou art a sober child, and art quick to observe;
I like the phrase "Quick to observe". There are some footnotes that relate the phrase quick to observe to "to notice/see", and "to obey/keep" Mormon, at a very young age was able to, in a sense, distinguish what he say and learn from it. Do you know who else was young?? Joseph Smith! and so are missionaries!! We learn this things in our youth so that we can be a great instrument to the Lord.
Well y'all have a nice week!! Don't skip too much school watching March Madness Zack Poulsen!!!! I love all you guys and thanks for the birthday wishes!!!
