This week has been pretty busy up in the arctic! The snow is all melted and even the Norris milk company has changed from their winter themed carton to their summer themed carton!! party! Summer is a comin'!!!
On Monday, we had plans to go up to Jokkmokk with the Zls for P-day put those plans fell through so we just spent the day in Luleå with the missionaries up there! Skellefteå is a pretty isolated place so it is always nice to see some new faces #tears
We taught our boy Ramy again this week. He has a ton of questions that don't really matter. The gospel, when it comes down to it, is actually really simple. Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways." Once you can understand that Joesph Smith was a prophet of God and that the Atonement of Christ is real; everything else falls into place.
We also met this girl named Kim this week who is from Brazil! (baby s/o to jeff and ash) Apparently, her father has met missionaries before and she has always wondered about the religion and now she is suppose to give a presentation in her school about a religion and she wants to learn about our church! This is the exact same way how another girl found the church in Skellefteå last year so we'll see how it goes!
On Sunday we were on our way to Piteå and we got trapped in this little bus station for 2 hours. There was literally no one in the bus station but then this fam from Ethiopia came in and we started taking to them. They sounded like they live a pretty humble life and they didn't speak very good English or Swedish but it was good enough for us to get across the point of how God is with us always, in good times and in bad. The family was very grateful for the little "pep talk" and come to find out they live in Skellefteå! What a miracle!!
When we finally made it to our destination in Piteå. We were with the Wirtala family (total studs) and there son who just got home from his mission showed us a very neat thing about Moroni's promise. Check this out-->
3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
Please notice the use of singular and plurals that I have marked. What are these things? Correct, the scriptures and/or the word of God. Now. What is "it"? Why does it say "it" after it is referring to "these things"?? That is because "it" is meaning the Atonement. Read, ponder, and pray about these things and then ask if The Atonement of Jesus Christ is real.
You guys are the best!! Sorry I don't have any pics for the week but I'll see if I can find some TBTs maybe... Have a good week y'all!!!! I love you all!!!
