So this week has been super fast and I don't really know what we did! (typical first sentence of a missionaries weekly email)
Well this week we did a lot of service like cleaning the church, moving people, helping people get ready to move, and so on and so on hahaha. We have been having a hard time with people following through with keeping our appointments but we still manage to teach quite a bit! Overall, life is good!!
I have learned a lot this week during studies and I would like to share a quote from a talk I read. The quote is about the Savior:
Upon this single individual and what He did rested all our hopes for happiness—the entire significance of our existence—as He, alone, knelt in Gethsemane, then staggered up the road to Calvary and finally hung upon the cross—not for Himself but because of His “loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men” (1 Nephi 19:9).
The Savior loved us so much that he did allll of that to give us only a way back to the Savior. He was not promised that if he full filled his purpose that everyone would use the Atonement. He loves (notice it is in present tense because he lives) us sooo much that he was willing to just give us the way and then still let us make the choice ourselves. What a selfless act. He over came every temptation possible. He was not born into the world with the ability to resist temptation, he too, just like everyone else, had to win those inner battles of temptation. And only he, because he never gave in, can understand to the full extent what temptation means. He knows what you're going through because he has been there.
Guys like I could go on for along time about stuff I have learned thus far on my mission. but the best thing you can learn, is how to help someone discover the desire to learn for themselves. The best teaches teach their students how to learn for themselves.
I have discovered that one reason (and there are many) I have been called to Sweden was to realize how much I do like to learn. Swedes love to learn! It is the "hip" thing to do. #JodiHemmingsen
Time flies when you're in the service of the Lord!! I wish it wouldn't
I love you all and hope you have a fantastic week ;) Make sure to eat some La Juas for me ok? ok :)
Med alla min kärlek för varje en av er,
