This week I got my new comp, Äldste Brinkworth, he was previously on the other side of Malmö and we actually just combined our areas so we have been pretty busy this week. Brinky is from Huntington Utah and has been on the mish for a little over a year. It was nice to have already known him so we didn't "have to get a feel for one another", we just went right to work!
This week consisted of lots of member dinners for once! like we had 1 or 2 almost everyday! Crazy right!? #EuropeMissionProbs I had the opportunity to make some more of Jeff Hemmingsen's "World Famous" Apple Pie again, it was a hit :)
I have decided that I am kinda glad I don't get so many member dinners, I'd gain like 50 kilos the next year and a half haha so it's chill.
This week I have been thinking a lot of goals I plan on setting. I have come up with three goals that I will be working on over the next 12 months
1. Read the Book of Mormon in Swedish 3 times and sound like a riktigt Swede (real Swede)
2. Learn to play the piano
3. Wear out two pairs of shoes by being a missionary
I don't have a ton of inspiring words about goals except for the fact that goals are meant to make you stretch and improve yourself. Develop all the talents you have and try to find new ones. It's fun to learn stuff!
Random spiritual thought of the week
I read the talk "What is Truth" by Elder Bednar. There is a part when he explains to different types of ways one can obtain the witness of the Holy Ghost. He compares it to the two ways we experience light. First, when you are in a dark room and then flip on the light it comes at you all at once. The second is like the sun rising, very gradual. When I read this it made me think how Joesph Smith kind of had "the light flipped on" when he saw God the Father and the Son. But it doesn't always happen like that. Laman and Lemuel in a way had "the light flipped on" too when they saw the Angel but it didn't have as much as a lasting effect on them. Now the question is, why not? The simple answer is that the person who discovers the truth by themselves receives a more personal testimony for themselves than if they were to experience a one time deal "exposure to light". When you are "shown the light gradually" you have more of a desire to continue to find it yourself. True truth seekers have a personal desire to receive their own personal revelation.
well th-th-th-th-th that's all folks! have a nice week and a fantastic New year :) Love y'all so much!
